A sandpiper to bring you joy

Sandpiper
Sandpiper

by Mary Sherman Hilbert.

Several years ago, a neighbor related to me an experience that happened to her on a beach in Washington State. The incident stuck in my mind and I took note of what she said. Later, the conversation came back to me and I felt I had to set it down. Here is her story, as haunting to me now as when I first heard it:

She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live.

I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me.

She was building a sand castle or something and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea.

“Hello,” she said…
I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child.

“I’m building,” she said.

“I see that. What is it?” I asked, not really caring… Continue reading “A sandpiper to bring you joy”

The little known secret to stop TOO many thoughts

© LunaDiRimmel

My friend just called. You know, the one with “OCD”?

Well, he’s much better these days but now his mental problems have shifted somewhat. The anxiety and obsessive nature of his thoughts are much less but now he’s just getting “TOO many thoughts!”

An unpleasant way to be

Really, it’s the same solution as in the popular unwanted thoughts article. There has to be space between thoughts and an awareness of being a curious and passive observer of your own thoughts…

If you think about the opposite case — a constant stream of thinking and a sense that “these thoughts are part of me,” then you really have a very unpleasant state of affairs… Continue reading “The little known secret to stop TOO many thoughts”

How to get your kids to do stuff

Kids! Can’t live with ’em…

…and can’t live without ’em eh?

If you’re a parent you know what I mean. Kids are both the greatest joy and the greatest frustration! As a dad myself, one of the day-to-day frustrations was getting my son to do stuff.

Kids don’t have the same responsibilities as adults and their young minds are so much freer to wander about and focus mainly on having as much fun as possible…

I’ve noticed that if I ask my son to do something “one-off,” there’s a much higher chance of a big negative reaction and resistance. Basically, he’s just too into whatever it is at the time to switch to doing my boring thing — usually homework or some other job that needs doing… Continue reading “How to get your kids to do stuff”

Unnatural foods — are you at risk?

There’s a sign in Yosemite National Park that says…

“Why is it bad to feed the animals?

Eating human food is not healthy for wildlife as their bodies don’t adjust well to the salt, fat and preservatives often found. They gain weight, lose hair, and become dependant on human food.”

Unnatural foods

The startling fact that not many people are acting on or perhaps have even considered, is that the salt, fat and preservatives are not good for humans either!

And these are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the dietary insults that we subject ourselves to…

But the irony doesn’t stop there — the sign was actually paid for by Coca-Cola!

All animals have a natural diet — that’s a rather obvious fact and yet very few people have considered that us humans have a natural diet too, defined by millions of years of evolution! Continue reading “Unnatural foods — are you at risk?”

Eckhart Tolle vs. The Secret / Abraham-Hicks

Eckhart Tolle

If you’re attracted to both these teachings you may be having trouble seeing how they fit together…

On the one hand Eckhart Tolle teaches that the source of all your troubles is your own ego. You’re lost in thought. You lack awareness or consciousness of your true, essential nature.

This is in line with the majority of spiritual teaching…

On the other hand, Abraham-Hicks and The Secret teach “You can have whatever you want.” “The universe is abundant.” “Place your order by putting yourself in the vibration of already having it, and it will be yours.”

At first it seems as though the two teachings are so different that there’s no reconciling them. One seems altruistic and the other, kind of selfish… Continue reading “Eckhart Tolle vs. The Secret / Abraham-Hicks”

I can’t function anymore

Honestly, I’ve been where you are, I know how you’re feeling. For 13 long years I couldn’t function, I was a zombie, not functioning mentally or physically.

That’s why I’m writing these words now…

I want you to feel better fast. For me, it was a long journey, and from that dark place of not functioning, the answers were hard to find, nothing worked.

The health industry is a muddle of confusion

When I tried to find information to help me turn things around, all I found was confusion, debate, and complexity in the health information industry. There was no clarity, no crystal clear guiding light that I could trust to lead me back to health. In short, it was a nightmare.

It took me a long time to piece it all together, to figure out the critical things that really matter, to discover what will truly work for health.

A guiding light

And that’s why I want you to get the information that will work right away. I had to write the book myself, so that other people, like you, would not have years of time wasted in confusion about what is going to work. It’s called Happy Guide.

Within an hour from now, you can be crystal clear about what works, crystal clear about what to aim for to turn your life around, to feel happy every day. You could spend the rest of the day pondering your first step and be up and running by tomorrow morning.

Crystal clarity

The fastest way for you to get to feeling good is to start today, by getting clear about the things that are truly taking you away from health and happiness, and applying the solutions in solid, clear steps.

Initial steps can be challenging, no doubt, but the worst thing of all is being stuck, not moving and not knowing where to turn for answers, not knowing if information can be trusted, if it will work.

Start your journey today

I have taken the journey you want to take, from not functioning, to having loads of energy and feeling great every day. And your energy, your mood, your vitality, your clarity of mind, is affecting everyone around you, because we all affect each other.

So please, get the information that will work, that will have you on the path instantly. It only takes one hour to read it, and by the end, you will feel really motivated, and happy that now you have a clear path to feeling good again.

As well as that, you are not without support, you can leave messages on any of our articles.

Happy Guide: Inspiration and motivation

After you’ve read Happy Guide, you’ll feel so relieved, because you’ll see how all the answers ring true, how the answers will be self-evident for you, you won’t be in any doubt.

And you will feel motivated! That is a precious thing in itself, you’ll feel inspired to act, knowing that you are moving into a new life where you always feel good and happy, as life should be.

So please don’t let years go by with no progress, turn it around today, by learning in one hour what took me over 20 years to figure out.

Sit don’t wobble — Zen and the art of mindfulness

© Ashley Jonathan Clements

When you are walking, walk. And when sitting, sit don’t wobble.

— Buddhist saying

Things that stick in the mind

With all the excitement of working on Happy Guide, I could feel myself getting hyped at times, thoughts rushing around, difficulty focusing on other stuff.

This made me put a few previously unconnected ideas together. Many years ago I watched a movie… The Long Kiss Goodnight where Samuel L. Jackson’s character repeated to himself what he was doing as he was doing it!

I’m walking to the fridge, taking out the milk etc. Said it helped him to remember things or something like that…

Very strange and curious I thought… it stuck in my mind that did.

Well, amazing… in The Miracle of Mindfulness, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh tells us to do the same thing…

Why is pain good?

© Diamond Farah

If you’re like me, the thing that motivated you to change your ways in the past was necessity. Something went wrong, basically.

I’ve noticed this trend in everybody really, hence the wise old saying “Necessity is the mother of invention.”

Perhaps you were hit by depression, gained weight or started feeling tired all the time.

The problem when you’re back on top is that you’re not motivated to change. It’s easy to backslide into old habits because you’re no longer in pain from your actions…

Pain is good?

When I originally made radical changes to my lifestyle, and they were radical, I was pretty much a zombie. The necessity for change was massive and so was the motivation. CRISIS!

But I’ve noticed in myself that the better I feel, the less likely I am to make changes or be motivated. So pain is actually good — in the sense that it shows you in no uncertain terms that what you’re doing is hurting you… Continue reading “Why is pain good?”

How to break bad habits and develop good habits

© Leo Prieto

Why is it, that with so much health information easily available to us, we aren’t getting the health and vitality we deserve?

The simple answer is that in general, we know what we need to change.

We might be a bit hazy on the finer details, due to the confusing messages sent out by the health information industry.

But even so, we know we should exercise, eat more fruit and vegetables and so-on.

We know why too. We want to feel like we did when we were kids. Endless amounts of energy to spend! We want to feel good about ourselves. And we want to be attractive, happy, fun-loving, life-loving people…

The missing link is HOW!

Somehow we lose focus, or don’t have enough will-power. Sometimes we can get started but can’t sustain our efforts and so-on. Whatever the reasons, the statistics tell a sobering tale… Continue reading “How to break bad habits and develop good habits”

Distortions, deception and LIES says Dr. Joseph Mercola

“Distortions, deception and LIES” says Dr. Mercola

If you’re into natural health, you may have come across the name of Dr. Joseph Mercola.

Believe me, Dr. Mercola is a very rare breed of doctor. He’s largely abandoned the sinking ship that is “The medical model” and we’re in for one hell of a storm before that ship goes down.

It’s the very fact that Dr. Mercola is a doctor that makes his views so very poignant. Get this…

“I’m an advocate for the truth, and the truth is that, every year, we are spending over $2 trillion in the U.S. alone for a fatally-flawed health care system that is killing hundreds of thousands of people every year, simply because they do not have the understanding, an awareness, of the alternatives to potentially-toxic and expensive medications.”
